Quick warranty question...

My 2007 F-350 6.0L (in service date: June 2007) has 46,000 miles in it and she is in the shop getting the fuel control module replaced. My Ford ESP is covering the cost, less the $100 deductible. My question is, shouldn't the original factory 100,000 mile warranty on the motor cover the cost of the repair at 100%?

I am almost positive that it should be covered 100% because it is emission related.

The FICM along with the turbo are emission items.

Thay are trying to do that with me to. Dealer said there is a $100 ded and I don't have an ESP warranty. Only the 5/100 I think I'm going to take my truck somewhere else.

Well, by the time I found a ride to the dealership, the service writer had left for the day and they only person there was a cashier. I paid the deductible as my ride had already left. I plan to give them a call first thing in the morning. Would you happen to know where I may be able to find something in writing classifying it as an emissions item?

What will happen is clear. Either the dealership refunds the deductible, or Ford will refund it. I have heard of both happening. The emissions warranty is an EPA requirement.

Just a follow up; I did receive a full refund of my paid deductible from my dealer after pointing out that the section he was referring to in the warranty book was for a light truck and not a Super Duty with the 6.0L. I have all the confidence in the mechanic at the dealership, but maybe not so much for the service writer. Thanks again for confirming what I had suspected regarding the warranty.

Is that because its a 2007? 2 dealers told me there is a $100 deductible for my oil cooler. $100 is better than $1500 so I said here a check.
