1997 Ford 4x4 with no heat
I have no heat in my truck it just blows cold air.
97 ford f-150 with a 4.2 L Auto trans
I have replaced the thermostat
flushed the heated core
new radiator and a cap
this is after truck is up to operating temp and the bottom hose is cold and feels like not much fluid is passing and the top and hoses going to the heater core are red hot
any ideas?
thank you

Under the compartment where the heater core is, there is an actuator. It is called the "Blend Door Actuator". That little do-dad rotates a set of gears that moves the door to let the hot air in off the heater core. You do not have to remove the dash to get to it. Pull the plastic vent cover from the between the floor and the dash and it will be on or near the center hump close to the passenger side. You can actually move the thermo *** and see if it turns. No turn, that is the problem. Just make sure it is oriented correctly when you put the new one in.
