fuel gauge slow to rise?
i have a 03 f250 v10, the problem i have is that when i went to fill up the tank, the fuel gauge still said empty. after driving around a bit, it started to rise up gradually, up to about 3/4 full. i only went 12kms and i asked for a fill, so i dont think thats where my reading should be. has this ever happened to anyone?
btw, the temp here is avg-40right now

Very common issue on the 6.0, and I don't imagine the programming for the fuel gauge is remarkably different on gas engine SDs, here's the thread:

On my '03, if you either leave the truck running while filling, or even just leave the key in the "accessory on" position while filling, it does the same thing as you describe every time.
It eventually "gets right" after driving a day or two.

put a couple of cans of good quality fuel treatment/cleaner into teh tank when yuor fairly low on fuel...
my truck was doing the same thing back about a year ago, since doing this my trucks guage has been spot on since..
hope that helps..
ps yea it is kinda common for this vintage of truck to start having issues with teh guages due to buildup on the float level.
