1966 F100 Truck Bed Repair Questions

I pulled the bed off and have cut out the rusted area. From the cab towards the back of the bed, it's about two feet. Now I need to find the bed panels if they exist and the 1st bed rail that is attached to the bed and mounts to the frame. Can I find these parts from vendors or do I have to fab the bed rail (not sure if this is the correct name) and find a donor truck to get a few feet of the bed so I can weld it back in?

Thanks

Do you need the Front bed panel? The bed rail can be fixed with some square tubing.

You are right, after looking at the front bed rail (not sure what to call it) I will be able to add a bit of metal and get it to work. What I need now is the rolled sheet metal (bottom of the bed) for the 1st couple of feet for the bed, starting at the cab.

Thanks

No one makes the correct panel. Or the subrails. Look at using a tub from a 73 to 79 and hang the quarters on it.

I was reading somewhere that a late model cheeeveey floor pan would fit with little modification. Thing is that this part could be ordered from Government Motors. If it is just a flat ribbed piece of floor steel that fits closely and can be ordered this may be an option to drilling spot welds and tacking sheetmetal pieces togeather? Never had the need yet but maybe. Oh yeah this ain't like putting a friggen cheeevee engine in a Ford so get over that.

The old/new bed I bought was redone and tubbed with steel diamond plate and looks pretty good. Not original but something is better than rusting.

My Bed is also rusted in the cab/bed floor area...is there a difference in the rib spacing from the 1966
and the bump or dentsides? JWH F-100's bed fix looks like the way to go instead of a patch and seam
job at the front.
