2004 NAVIGATOR AIR SUSPENSION HEAD ACHE

my 2004 navigator air compressor went out, so i bought a new one. then i noticed that front right passenger side air bag was leaking so i replaced it and it did the same thing the old one did, every time you hit a dip, bump, or stop you could hear it leak. During this initial drive I had installed the old compressor since I had fixed it, well it locked up again and in the process the check air suspension message came on. now i installed again the new compressor and checked all the fuses and they are good but the compressor doesnt turn on at all. what else can it be, the air suspension module?

Check all of your electrical connections related to the compressor as well as the fuses and relays. I think you have an electrical problem at this time.

Check the pressure switch.

It will most likely be mounted on your air tank.
Under 85-90 psi it should have continuity across the terminals.

Well so far I checked Fuses 20, 27, 11, & 111 in the Central Junction box along with the relay attached to the compressor and they are all good. I just cant figure out what else. I dont think these have an air tank to check that pressure switch. thanks

if I put a jumper cable between post 3 and 5 on the relay next to the compressor, the air compressor turns on but it will not lift the front end. It almost seems that there is no signal going to the relay from the module to turn the compressor and air bag sensors when they are suppose to.

Try disconnecting the battery and then reconnecting it after 30 seconds. Then start the truck and close the driver's door with the engine running. You can be in or out, but that sometimes gets things going again. Disconnecting the battery will clear any soft codes set and the computor recognizes the closed door and signals the compresssor and solenoids to start working.

What you have done here is verify the compressor works. without a signal to the solenoid(s) the suspension will not elevate.

Hey buddy I don't know if you read the post I put about my 2002 expedition but I just wanna tell you that I am sooooo glad I dont have to deal with the airbag suspension junk anymore. I called Strutmasters and they helped me solve all this nightmare that you are going through right now. They basically explained to me how the airbags go out one after the other and how its still a nightmare if you still go with the airbags. Honestly, I am happy with my purchase and they convinced me to go with the conversion kit which I don't have to deal with air anymore and I was able to save a lot of money.

If you need the website, it is Suspension Kits & Parts Expert: Find Air Shocks, Struts & Lift Kits, the sales reps were very knowledgeable.

If you have any questions let me know cuz I can help you out if you need me too.

I just want to pass the word out there.

You may have either a bad solenoid or a bad height gage there are electrical values that you can check rather than just throwing parts at it. i only have a service manual for up to '02 but as these systems are nearly all the same I'll see if I can copy-paste the info I have and post it for you.
