Need to remove the fan clutch on a 94 Exploder, and a 1-1/8 Craftsman (my biggest wrench) is a bit too small. Yeah, I know there's a special tool, but if I get a combination wrench and a strap wrench I'm sure I'll use it for more than just this one job.

 

I always use a big cresent wrench to get fans off.

 

They have special wrenches you can get from the loan a tool.

 

Try taking 2 hammers and hitting the nut simutaniously with both hammers, one on each side of the nut. I have taken a few off and hitting them like that they usually will spin off by hand after a few wacks.

 

I went to Auto Zone and did the loaner tool. You pay for the tool and when you return it you get a full refund.
