Part number help

I'm trying to find a part number for the master cylinder push rod bushing. This is another one of those brilliantly designed plastic parts that break no matter how hard you try to remove carefully. It's also another part that when call the dealer, you either get a "huh, what part are you looking for??" or "I dunno, you need to come in with the old part..."

Are you looking for the clutch master cylinder push rod bushing? The part # for that is E69Z-7526-A. Should be readily available at any Ford dealer-it's a very common problem (I keep an extra one in my glovebox).

You're not kidding about that, they are a common problem.

I've got an e-clip holding what's left of the bushing. I broke it when I needed to take the master cylinder out. I had to pull the MC out because I couldn't disconnect the fitting from the slave when I pulled the M5OD.

Thanks guys!

I contacted my local dealer, or should I say stealer in this case and they quoted nearly $10 for the pierdolony part! I told them I wanted the plastic one and not the gold plated one.
I can't believe they get that much for a stupid little piece of plastic. I think I'll just keep using the e-clip.

$10.00 is minimum charge, even a paper clip is ten bucks.

You mean stealerships now have minimum will call charges?
It reminds me of a Joe Pesci quote from Lethal Weapon."$10 for a @#!% aspirin..."

Yep $9.42 MSRP from FoMoCo. Be aware that it isn't just a clip, it also acts as a bushing between the arm on the clutch pedal assembly and the master cylinder pushrod. If it fails, 1 of 2 things will happen. Either the pushrod won't depress far enough to operate the clutch interlock switch, and the truck won't start, OR the pedal arm will eat through the end of the pushrod, necessitating a new master cylinder. Or both. Seen it many times.
