Not sure about the mileage but I used it for the hard start just to test it out...I do think it runs a little more quiet and smoother....I am headed out to West Texas tonight, I will check the mileage and report back...I have no cell or internet where I am going.

Cheers

It sounds like you've got the first generation inductive heating strategy. I'm surprised it ran that rough with it. I'm also VERY surprised that a Texas truck would be having that kind of injector issues; it's just not THAT cold here! Mine is occasionally missing a couple of times, but nothing serious.

I doubt that using REV-X will change the mileage; the product doesn't change the tuning any. It runs quieter because it changes the properties of the oil used to fire the injectors.

Are you suggesting that I get my PCM reflashed?

I know my current strategy.

VXCF1 is too early for the inductive heating. VXCF5 or later. The latest one is VXCF9. It slows the frequency of the inductive heating current, and adds a number of increased diagnostics, designed to catch a clogged oil cooler before it wipes out the EGR cooler, among other things.

The downside of the later flashes is that they tend to remove a substantial amount of throttle response, and you take a hit in fuel economy.

Use the search function at the top of the browser window.

Common search terms: re-flash; VXCF9

That's much less hassle and frustration than trying to talk to MOST dealer service writers.
