hose size?

What size hoses are the ones in the frame that connect the fuel diverter valve to the fuel lines? Looks like 1/4 but it's too cold to crawl under with a mic right now. I got one leaking and need to redo them both.

5/16 iirc. Thats what size rubber line I used on my fuel system. Fits over the metal line very well. I also used the efi fuel clamps. Fit a lot better.

Those crimp on clamps sure sucked didn't they. That's what caused my leaks but figure the hose is old and I just started running bio so might as well replace it. We're gonna pull the bed on the next warm day and do all of those too.

How about the two by the oil cooler? I hate those quick disconnect fittings there. I can't ever seem to get them apart without ruining the connector. I have all the right tools but that's a crappy location and they are always full of dirt. I was gonna just put some new FI hose there with clamps too. Should that be ok?

when I replaced by hard lines on the motor they were two different sizes. I believe one is a 1/4 and one was 5/16th. I would assume that is the way they run all the way back to the selector...but you know what they say about assumptions.

Yes that works fine. But, if they are currently stock they will be the 2 different sizes. I assume the 5/16th is supply side and 1/4 is return. The hardest part of that fix, after you get the "quick disconnect" apart is getting your hose over the "barb" on the steel lines.

I just looked at my truck again and both hard lines in the frame are the same size. Both look like 1/4. On my 97 they are different sizes. I may have to do some more parts swapping here. THis isn't cool. 94 had a lot of weird stuff on it!

I know on top of the motor the hose sizes are 3/8 and 5/16. the small one is for the drain valve and short return hose.
