Even if this fuel loss is doesnt to harm your engie, you may have a fire hazard, you're smelling gas... apparently a strong smell. Not trying to scare you or anything, just saying it could happen.

not much to do with the leak, but wouldn't a cracked pvc tube also lead to strong smell of gas? also check for leak at the fuel inlet at the carb, a little harvey's tfe paste works wonders for sealing that, better than teflon tape, just don't put it on the first couple threads.

After reading a few other threads, I am almost positive now that it is the fuel pump...

Question: I have a nylon fuel line going from my tank to my fuel pump.

Should I spend the extra money to get a metal one? Or is the nylon one good enough?

Also, when I looked at the fuel pump, near the bottom is it soaking wet covered in a mixture of gas and oil... So, I am going to change the fuel pump ASAP, as well as the oil and filter.

Right?

Okay. Well, the gas tank looks like it is leaking fuel near the connection at the top, as well as the breather tube not hooked up, etc. etc.

I am going to take off the bed of the truck and reattach all that tomorrow, as well as take off the fuel pump, drain oil, change fuel and filter.

So.. yeah...

Yep, yep.
