Fuel hose for valley

I need some hose to replace the 3 hoses in the engine valley that connect to the fuel pump. I know the diameter and lengths. A write up that sam miller did says they have to be rated for 400 psi and obviously diesel fuel. My question is 1) does it absolutely have to be rated for 400 psi? 2) where can I get it?

We have a hose specialty shop but they don't have it for that high of a rating. Several places have it for 250-300 psi. Ford has them in stock but wants $20 got 3" of hose!!!

Been a couple years ago but memory tells me the Ford kit also contains new clamps.

oreilleys, advance and napa have 30r9 hose. It's out on the shelf in a box with 18 inch lengths called fuel injection hose. Ask for new fuel injection hose clamps. They are different. They have radiused edges so they won't cut into it. I think it's about 7 bucks a box. one 2 inch hose from ford is about that or more. you need 3/8 and 5/16 if I remember right. The smaller one is for the return line off your regulator and the drain valve.

The hoses are $8 for the long one and $6 each for the 2 short ones at ford. No thanks. I mean crap its 7"of 3/8"hose. and yes the fpr hose is 5/16".
reckon I'll go get some 30r9 tomorrow. The lengths should be 2- 2" and a 2 7/8" in the 3/8".

I really do have to say screw Ford on this one. All you guys need is one labeled sae j30r9. That will be the exact same spec as the overpriced garbage from Ford. It doesn't have to be blue or any fancy color. Just has to meet that spec.

I got mine from partsguyed. Cost a little more but I didn't care. Just a few bucks and the right hose. If I'd have known about clay more when I did my stuff I would have gone that way.

I think that link is actually to bobs web page. But agreed either way. My dealings with clay and bob have both been fair and painless

When I changed my fuel pump last year, I did like RRanch did, but my local O'reilly's had HP fuel line on coils in the back, I got 2 feet of each size for 4 bucks and just cut them to size.
