Hello. I am getting my '56 Panel truck. This one here: 1956 Ford F-100 panel truck project It will be shipped to me tomorrow. What are some experiences with hood tilt kits? Which ones are recommended? I have done a lot of reading and haven't been able to decide. Thanks.
I just got the CPP kit, for the same reason Sam mentioned... I think the No Limit roller bracket is a little fugly. Also, according to the Mid-Fifties catalog, the CPP kit is sturdier.
I jsut got it from Mid-Fifty Monday, and will start installing it today

Hey Jon, glad to see ya back! How ya been? (Nice ink)
On to the question, I have a Mike Chesser's kit on mine and I love it, but that's my opinion.
Thanks Truxx 1956!
Stalled for a while on my truck (home projects and some custom work on my daily driver) but I'm back at it hot and heavy now.
Related to he original question: I'm thinking about adding linear actuators to my hood kit. If I go that route, will i need anything more than a locating pin as far as a latch? A linear actuator has as much holding power as lifting power, no? So if I added a locating pin at the cowl to keep alignment in check, the linear actuators would suffice to hold the hood down? I wouldn't consider it if the hood was front opening... I'd want a positive locking mechanism to keep the wind from folding my hood back.. I know a couple of folks (both Mustang owners) who have had hoods pop open on the freeway and neither of them liked the experience much...
I made the hardware, it wasn't as difficult as you might think. Fine tuning it took a little time but I had "special circumstances" that made it necessary. Pics in my firewall/hood gallery for anyone who's interested
I also have some pics in my gallery, but you would have to look for them. They may not be the best, just underhood pics that have the flip and hinges in them. Mine is the early Mike Chesser kit.
