2005 Excursion and voltage gauge
I was comparing the gauges between my 2000 and 2005 Excursions. Although the tranny temp gauge is nice to have in the 05, it seems they deleted the volt gauge to put it in. I would like a voltage gauge like the 00 as well. Anybody add one? If so which, how and where.
Thanks

Matt,
the dash gauges are NOT very informative.
The Transmission and Engine Oil Temp gauges give NO
indication whether the temp is 100* or 180*.
I use the scangauge2 and ignore the dash gauges completely.
In the Ex the scangauge 2 fits neatly into the "cubby" in the
dash where the upfitter switches belong in an F-series.

[quote=jh818;9845014]Here is a picture of the location of my Scangauge II. The steering wheel does block my view but I'll just look around it. I couldn't find another place to put it with that wire sticking out of it. I had to cut away that little square "vent" for the wire.

JH: my scangauge has a connection on the back also.
So, I used a long drill bit and put a hole into the back of the cubby
and fed the cable through the hole and into the back of the scangauge.
The cable runs from the ODBII port up behind the brake controller and
is nearly invisible. I've used some velcro strips to secure it from being
to loose when I use the buttons.
