Advice on replacing oil pressure sending unit - V10

Have the common problem of the oil pressure gauge reading 0 when cold - done it for the last 3 years, and am finally going to replace it. Anyone ever done it? Never done one before, any advice would be great. Do you just screw it in, or do you put something on the threads? Any location advice? Thanks in advance.

not yet, but I have the same problem. but I don't drive my Ex in the snow. I have a beaterfor the winter. Around here, people forget how to drive in the snow over the summer. I'm not taking any chances with morons on the road

It is located on the driver side of the motor, just below and in front of the head/exhaust manifold. (in the block, not the head I think, lower, toward the pan) It has a single pin connector. Torque to 10 ftlb. Book time is under .5 so it should not be too hard.

I have never done this so this info is from the manuals. It looks like the sensor is located just under a coolant line that exits the motor in the same area but I can not tell for sure from the diagrams.

I replaced mine on my 4.6l Tbird. you can use a open ended wrench but there is a special tool they sell to replace it as the notched are rounded not squared like a reg nut. it is a pretty easy to replace bur don't over tighten as it will not read correctly. Hope this helps.
