Thanks for the explanation. I jumped into the headers without really researching because of the timing in the repair. Then I started reading about the flutter and figured I would be annoyed. Good to hear the Gibsons should be OK.
Turns out I had plenty of time, the head came in and was missing parts! The dealer returned it and the replacement just came in today. I had planned to go camping this weekend at a track about 50 miles away to test everything out before heading to Glamis (220 miles) on Presidents day.
This has been an experience!

I finally got the truck back today! Unfortuntely UPS still hasn't delivered my 5Star tuner. Mike shipped it the same day I ordered it, 2/3/2011, but UPS shows it still being in Illinois. They now say it will be delivered on Monday.
The Gisbson headers look great. It may be my imagination but the truck seems to have a bit more bottom end even though I don't have the Y pipe or Flowmaster on yet. They make a little more noise than I expected but nothing ridiculous.
It also runs very smooth. I don't think there were any problems before the plug failure but I could swear it runs better now. Probably just my imagination and excitment at finally getting it back.
We are loading up the toys and heading to Gordon Wells on Friday. That is part of the Imperal Dunes area (Glamis) but further south, almost on the border. The trip will be over 200 miles each way so I will be able to feel the tuner and hopefully will get the Y pipe and muffler on before the trip.
Thanks for everyone's help on this forum! I learned a lot and shouldn't repeat this disaster again.

You should get some more low end with the y-pipe also. It was a smart move going with the 5 Star tuner. Just keep an ear open for any detonation especially at high engine loads. Mike does a great job with his tunes however with the way fuel quality varies it is still possible to get some detonation.
