Heated seat problem

The heated drivers seat in our 03 mountaineer doesn't work. The button works and the little light in the dash lights up but the seat doesn't ever warm up. I don't have any idea of where to start looking for the cause and wondered if anyone here might have an idea. Thanks in advance for any help.

When I bought my 2004 Mountaineer the driver's heated seat didn't work but the indicator on the climate control system indicated it was receiving power. After reviewing the wiring diagrams I checked the connection between the seat bottom and seat back heaters and determined I had resistance through the seat back heater element but not the bottom heating element. I disassembled the seat and found the open in the heater element. I was able to tear a bit of the heater element fabric and solder the two ends of the broken wire together and it's been working great since then (1.5 years now). It wasn't a simple task to disassemble the seat cushion but it was well worth it to have a working heated seat!
