loss power 6.4

I have a 2008 F-350 with loss power, if I'm driving at about a 100 km and floor the truck to pass a car i have no power about a 1/4 of boost, then if you let off and ease in to the peddle the boost comes up but slowly. if you pull over and shut the truck off and start it back up the power is back and works find till u drive at a 100 or slower for 10 or 15 min. some times if you hold the peddle to the floor till it govern out the power will come back. i have had it in to ford a few time and they can't find anything wrong with it.

This could be a hard one to pin down. How many miles and what type of driving do you do?

This could be anything from clogged fuel filters or a VCV valve. Maybe an EGR related issue.

I take it no check eng light or a wrench? Any white smoke or black smoke?

Your engine is derating or going to limp mode for some reason. It has a fault in the system somewhere that is telling the PCM not to let it power up.

I do lots of long drives and a fare bit of idling, two weeks a go i had it in to ford to have the egr valve cleaned but they checked every thing over and told me it was a wast of money to clean the egr everything was running fine,
What is the VCV valve do?
there is no CEL or smoke it has gotten worse now that i am working in -30 C temp i do have a winter front on and do us conditioner for the fuel,
I have notice the odometer display flicker a few times a day.
when it go in to regen it only display it on the screen for a few sec, then it is gone
there are no mods doen and i am 158,000 km on it
I did buy the truck used

VCV is Volume control valve. Regulates the fuel pressure sent to the rails. My thoughts are to look at your fuel pressure.

Fuel pressure/flow should set a code, should it not? Of course there's no accounting for computers sometimes, nor is there for some dealerships.

Sounds like you still have the DPF and all emissions installed on the truck. Assuming the truck is stock and has no tuner, What does the tail pipe look like? Clean or sooty black?

Start a new thread about this and then I will ask you if it is smoking when you floor it, have you changed your fuel filters, have you checked all cac pipes, have you scanned for any codes.
