UTI institute training Norwood Ma

this has nothing to do with my vehicle but does anybody out there have any experience with UTI institute?
My grandson is planning on attending but at 27k a year I think that's a little expensive.
Just wondering if there are any UTI graduates out there

Never heard of them myself, but have not kept up in that career field. You will want to check for accreditations though.

John,

I went to check them out with my son a few years ago..

It looks like they have a good training facility.

I agree the price is a bit steep.. Not sure how good they are as my son didn't attend there..

IT was to far from us to commute every day and the traffic on RT 128/95 would be horrendous trying to get there..

The only thing we didn't like about their plan was they said they would find you work while he attended so he could work and attend school..

The only problem is they find you a job at McDonalds, Dunkins or other fast food place..

Would be better if the got you into a dealership or service place..

I think it would be good to attend if you live in the Norwood area..

Hope this helps..

I know 5 people including my brother who graduated from there.(within the last 10 years) All got jobs at dealerships, only one is still there, the others changed careers.

they all generally liked the school , agree its a bit pricey. Each of these people went on to manufacturer specific instruction.

I gather if you went from Maine to Arizona you were happy with the school.
Did they help you in securing employment?
Was it worth it?
Are you working in the trade now?
Would you recommend it?
You're not a ringer for UTI are You?
thanks for your help

I graduated UTI in 1990, thought it was a good school, taught by people that worked the field, not by someone that got a degree and thought they could teach. You of course have some teachers better than others... Back then, they didn't do the body work, which I would have preferred they did. I got burned out on the field, but it was not the training that caused that... however, I still use what I learned there for myself, as well as my job right now in parts sales, until I get my engineering degree.

I am not working in the trade anymore, aside from my own stuff. Honestly, I went to a very good tech center in high school for two years, and had I had some time to sit in on a few classes, I probably would not have done the automotive part, just the diesel part. It's a great school and all, all I got from the automotive part was just a piece of paper though.

I was looking at going there a few years ago. I don't know if it was just me, but they harassed and almost bullied me when I said I didn't want to go there and kept calling/emailing me for months after. Just my experience. It seems like a good place besides that and the high cost.

They keep calling 3x a day. I think they are a little pushy.
At 27k a year I think a lot of it is commission.

I'm sure the recruiters get paid for getting students there, similar to the military as well. Can't say i agree with the tactics... Wasn't like that back when I went.

You did likely get evaluated for your performance by the numbers I would expect. Wasn't sure if you got anything additional... I didn't mean to imply you did. I had thought about rewriting the statement to reflect that. I would expect the school's recruiters to get commission though.
