73-77 Truck grill on a 78-79??

Has anyone seen a 78-79 with a grill from a 73-77 truck swapped in? Does anyone have one or know of a pic somewhere? Just curious to see what it'd look like.
Thanks
Sleepy

looks like a 78-79 with the older grill.... round headlights, split grill and turn signals up high..sheet metal was no different other than the ford letters on the hood vs in the grill. easy swap if you have all the parts.

Nice. Yeah I knew the swap was easy. I just didn't know if anyone had done it. It seems most people like the look of the 78-79 front more I guess since most of the grill swaps are the late model onto the early trucks. I like the round headlights and split grill myself.

Keep em coming!

They did... they were just smaller and lacked the kind of menacing appearance of their later-model cousins.

Righ after I spent a bunch of money on my lift, wheels, and tires for my Bronco there was a 79 Bronco with a 73 grill for sale locally. But at the time I didn't have the money for it.

I've seen that swap a few times here in South Carolina where the lift laws restrict headlight height, the old grills headlights are a few inches lower.

here's what I did . the grille bolted up find .had to use headlight buckets from 74 f-150. To mount them to the bronco 78 core support i had to redrill the holes to mount the headlights in the proper location !

Ford originally planned to bring it out around 73 or 74. The gas shortage of the late seventies hit, so they put the project on hold for a few more years.
