Dick Cepek MC or Toyo open country
Which tires should I get Dick Cepek Mud Country or Toyo Open Country? The size will be 35X12.50X20. I will be on the road more than off the road but during hunting season do need to get off the road mostly in the south with the occasional hunting trip to the mountain snow country.

I have installed the Cepeks and Mickey's on several trucks when the Toyo's were not available. I personally run the Toyo's on several trucks, and seem to have better luck (way better ride, plus better wear and tread life) with them than my friends have had with the tires manufactured by Cooper.

Try this.........

I just switched from Toyo OCMT to Hankook MTRs and am alot happier with their performance over the Toyos, as for mileage.....I did get close to 45000 out of them, hopefully I will be able to get the same out of the Hankooks. They were $100 ea. cheaper too!
Was pushing through 4-6' drifts making first tracks on New Years Day on an elk hunt, didn't even need the chains for most of it but decided to go ahead once we got back to the maintained road before heading back to the top......last year the Toyo's needed to be chained up in that deep. One draw back with the Hankooks so far that doesn't bother me is they are not as quiet as the Toyo's were. Don't know if the Cepeks are E rated, these are just like the Toyo.

I have the Toyo Open Country in 35x12.5/17. Great tire! Very quiet and I have more than half the tread left with nearly 30k miles. I've used them running through mud and snow and have been impressed. I'm torn between going down size to BFG All terrains or staying with the Toyo next time I need tires (for gas mileage only). Oh yeah, the Toyos are very smooth on the road for a mud tire. This is comparead to the Goodyear MTRs I had on a Jeep years ago.
