Anyone heard of an Axiom / Ace Torque Converter?

I'm going to be rebuilding my tranny in the near future and came across this torque converter on craigslist. Problem is...I can't find anything about this torque converter or brand on the net.
here is the ad description

"NEW Axiom/Ace Double locking Torque converter for Ford E40D/4R100. List price is 550.00 plus shipping will sale for 125.00 obo"

Any information would be greatly appriciated!

I bought a no name trip disc converter for my rescent rebuild on ebay from oregon performance transmission. It sucks!!! I can blow through the converter easy with my 80 hp tune. It is miserable until it locks. I fear Im gonna drop some cash to get a good one here shortly. Prob is I paid 600 for this one.

I am now looking at the banks converter and the stalion from precision industries. not sure which way ill go.

From my understanding it is all about the low stall for our diesels the clutch in mine holds once locked. The stator generates the torque mulitplication and is what you feel when you stand on the skinny pedal under 40 mph(tq lock)

The Stallion Converters from PI is what Brian at BTS uses. Drop him a call to pick his brain.

Built it myself. (well it was my first and I had a friend that used to be a tranny man do most while I learned the process).

No tranny stand just a nice clean work bench and a parts bench to keep things organized.

Clean everyting till it looks clean then clean it again.

If you plan on using an exhaut brake update to a 4 disc coast clutch and use the transgo tugger kit.

Also reybestos red clutches for more grab if you are runnig a tuner is nice. Soak them before installing.

Upgrade the forward clutch housing/drum to one that has splines all the way through it. I think it is the one specked for the E4od but they interchange.

Lock yourself in the garage alone when rebuilding and cleaning the VB's it takes a ton of concentration.

make friends with your local tranny shop. They usuall have all the hard parts in stock since they rebuild these trans all the time.

lastly dont cheap on the TC like i did.

Red face trans rebuild

Hi, Damonkr, i worked for a mechanic 50yrs ago and rebuilt his first tranny by lying it
ouy on a work bench that was about 40feet long one part a time,it was a Hydramatic.
I have thought about rebuilding e4od in my 95psd,the kits are reasonably priced
compared to what for a complete rebuild,is there a bunch special tools needed to pull
this off,as a side note my son and i had to replace adapter plate between engine and
tranny this tranny is heavy you almost need to eat bananas and your nunkels drag the
ground.

For all you guys, PI is what i have, so far so good, note, make sure your trannies in top working order, the PI is a strong one, also if you can afford it change the flex plate to the billet one. JMOP.

As for special tools there are only two I think that you wont be able to do without. One I think was for compressing the clutches to install a snap ring and I can't recall the other but ill ask my tranny buddy. Both tools he had home built from previous rebuilds.

What was the reasoning for the new Flex plate? Just curious if I should look into one for when I order my PI stalion.

As for price to rebuild myself I am only in the rebuild $1550 (including the $585 for the junk convertor) but I upgraded a few things. If it were only a stock rebuild I would think 500 in soft parts is a good number to shoot for.
