Should look like this (but hopefully better numbers!) some rebuilders affixed a plate or re-stamped something there, but the OEM serial number should be like this:

Edit: as a side note, if you have bolt in oilers, be very careful not to loose the bolts themselves. They are special bolts. Misplacing the oilers or bolts will be expensive and a real headache to find replacements.

I was looking up the glow plugs the only ones that autozone, oreilly, KOI, and several others say that will fit are the ZD-11. Are they reliable? Are they the same as stock??
I hope im not the idiot that hasn't got a clue as to what im talking about. lmao!
if these are the ones to use for a 1999 ford f350 7.3L then the original post needs to be updated.

If that's not a typo and you indeed have a '99 then you have a Power Stroke and you're in the wrong sub-forum. This is the 6.9 & 7.3 IDI used in the '83 to '94 Ford trucks forum.

cavitation confusion

Hello, I have a 1989 Ford E350 Club Wagon with 7.3 IDI diesel engine with 70,000 miles on it. In the new owners FAQ article you recommend using Extended Life Coolant (ELC) to help prevent cavitation. But in the linked article about cavitation, it explicitly says NOT to use ELC on older (pre-Powerstroke) IDI engines because some of the rubber radiator components may be damaged by ELCs. The article recommends using old style glycol antifreeze with low silicate. Please clarify. Thanks. Dan

Dan, you need to start a new thread with your question. This is the FAQ thread so you're not likely to get many replies here.

6.9/7.3 IDI Diesel tech info

I was given the green light so here are a few links that will hopefully be useful to people.
Again, to my knowledge, all of these are specific to the 7.3 engines in the latter years of the OBS trucks.

The first three links are pdf files, and the rest are just single pictures.
