2004 6.0 Diesel F250 losing antifreeze
I am new to this thread posting so bare with me, I have a 2004 F250 with the 6.0 Diesel. I am losing approxiemetly 1 gal of antifreeze per week. Only driving 2-3 times per week for 85 mile round trip. I cant find any evidence of external leakage. My oil level is staying the same. Can the block heater boil it out at that rate? I plug it in every night because its winter and I never know when I will need it. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks BMAC

Stop driving. Nothing to do with block heater.
You must be seeing white smoke or smell it coming out of tail pipe.
Go to tech folder and see diagnostics procedure for seeing if you have a busted EGR cooler and details as to how to fix.
If you keep driving, you risk hydrolock (engine destruction).
Do products of combustion check in coolant to verify head gasket / bolts.
Mileage? Mods? Maintenance? Oasis report?

Listen to Gearloose - this is a serious situation. That's a lot of fluid. Look for white specs or coolant all over the engine near the degas bottle - you are likely loosing it through puking. New engines are not cheap and you definitely have a problem.

Thanks for the info, dropped off at the dealer this morning and am waiting to see the diagnostics. It has 101750 miles and I have owned since new. Change oil regularly use Rotella 15W 40 change fuel filter every 10,000 miles, put in a new air cleaner at 100,000 had some electrical updates for engine done around 75000 other than that just a good running farm truck pull hay trailer through summer. Where do I need to look on this site to get the updates or upgrades to this 6.0. Is there some things that I should do to it that I havent? Please advise. Thanks for your Input Bmac
