Has anyone siphoned gas out of the gas tank behind the cab of a 79? I just tried doing it with no success. I've siphoned the tank in rear but not behind the cab.

 

piece of cake ! I Siphon gas all day at work from tanks we don't punch . i use d a 12v multipurpose pump makes life a lot easier

 

What's the trick? I can't seem to get the hose into the gas in the tank. I get it in but can't seem to maneuver the bends.

 

sorry i should have mention that i drop the tanks an remove the fuel pump /sending units. an shove the hose down though that hole because a lot of tanks have some kind of anti siphoning devise in them

 

I have put pin switches on the gas flap of customer's rigs when I do alarms to stop a problem with siphoning.

the 'device' to prevent siphoning is basically just a metal screen, which you can stab through with a sharp object. piece of conduit with the end cut at about a 30 degree angle.
