if thats mounted and balanced on the truck thats sounds ok. if just for the tires thats a little to much. $728 is what i seen just for the tires to your front door. you will love the hankooks, i will get another set when the time comes and i would not even think about trying any other tires. we got 10 inches of snow last night and it drove up my hill out of my drive way and thru the 2ft of snow at the end of the drive way from MR.Plow.

I'm running a set of Destination A/Ts on my 05 4x4 and really like 'em a lot. Stock size 255/70R17 for $634 M&B with Road Hazard included. The new tech Firestone/Brigestone tires are excellent and they get high ratings on Tire Rack's Consumer Surveys.

I've run the Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs on my truck for well over a year now. Really quiet on the road, and have tons of grip in snow and mud. It's a winter rated tire as well.
Downside to this quiet soft ride.... soft rubber. They wear somewhat quick. I still have about 50% tread left. But, that is the longest I have had a tire maintain tread. The stock BF's lasted me all of 55,000kms.

I'm with you N5926g. Said it before and I'll say it again. If you don't need or want an overly aggressive tire, then Michelin should be the choice if they fit your budget. By far the best tire I've ever put on a vehicle. So much so that I ditched the set of foreign no names with less than 10K miles on them for a new set of LTX M/S2. Couldn't be happier.

PIRELLI SCORPIONS
just curious what it is that you guys don't like about the Pirelli's; I wore out the first set, and replaced with same.
They plow through a Canadian winter -20 degrees, and are quiet & smooth on the Interstate down to Florida and everything in between...so unless you're plowing through mud, what's the issue??? They dont look real cool & knobby but do the job ok.

Personally, I don't have beef with the Pirellis, but I also don't have experience with them. Bought my SCrew pre-owned and it had some horrible street performance rubber on it from the Eastern Block somewhere. They were pitiful on all accounts, aside from dry pavement.
I do however have plenty of prior experience with Michelin, and it's all been wonderful. I have dipped into Goodyear with less than pleasing results. This set on my SCrew will make the 4th set for me on the 2nd vehicle, and my father runs nothing but Michelin on his and my mother's vehicles. I'd say as a family we've been through 7 sets or so. Can't complain one bit about any of them. Always wear nicely, with great all weather manners.

I don't have any real answers but I wanted to share my experience. I put new tires on my '08 Lariat screw at 36K miles. I went with Toyo six ply and they are great. LT275/65R 18 and the set cost me about $1,100. I was a little shocked at the price but have since learned that it was not unrealistic for this size.
What I don't quite get is all the other sizes mentioned here. I have 18 inch rims on my Lariat, do other '08 F150s come with different diameter rims? Or have they changed from year to year?
I didn't even consider changing the rims on mine, they look good and I had no problem to solve so I left them as is.
