'41 did not have one in the glove box, and '42 has the same cab so I'm thinking that that year didn't either. I beleive that only the F-1s had this item there. Macs sells the plates for under the hood.
A 42 might have one..but i'm not 100% sure. The 45 and later did, so the '42's might. The plate (called rating plate) is not currently being made, I don't think. The numbers on the plates were the VIN, gross weight, and model number.
On my '46's and '47 they are attached to the inside of the glove box door by the 2 screws that hold on the handle for the door. The ones that are rivieted to the firewall are called Patent Plates, those only show the patent numbers under which the vehicle was produced, they are not specific to the vehicle. Those are readily available from most early V8 suppliers.
