Question topper for a 92 f -150 flareside

New to me 92. Having a hard time finding a used topper in the Florida panhandle.
The 83 x 57 dimensioins throw the dealers off.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

A topper for those beds will be even harder to find than a good shape Flareside truck around here!

I have seen some, but rare!

I've seen FlareSides with toppers that matched the truck, it looked good.

I also looked. I never did find anything.

Eww, a camper shell on a flareside. Gross. Those have the wierd protruding sides by the back of the cab. I think they are discontinued. If you have to get one watch Ebay or craigslist for a used one. You could also put a wanted ad on craigslist.

After a quick search, these are the only pictures I could find. It looks goofy. I don't know why they made them like that. It would have looked better if it was the same width all the way to the cab.

Ewwwwwww

Think your best bet would be TRYING to find a tonneau cover.

92 topper solution

Thanks for the info gentlemen,

I have found a local auto upholstery shop with a good reputation.
He is going to make a tonneau cover for me.
I will post a picture when he finishes.

you can still get tonneau cover for flaresides. I haven't done it yet,but I have been considering contacting softopper and seeing if they could make me a collapsible camper shell like they offer for normal bed trucks, that would be good for my all night fishing trips, and would fold down quickly when I need to haul large stuff, but I bet it would be very pricey considering it would be a special order.

I have a FlareSide and I'll tell ya that, unless you LOVE the look of it, you're alot better off to swap a StyleSide bed onto it, then get whatever cover you want. Then you'd have more cargo space and accessories are easier to find.

I would rather have the hard tonnue cover, since you can lock them. I like the flush mount ones that do not stick up over the bed rails.

It's darn near impossible to find anything for these beds....
The only thing I have for mine is a bedliner....

Ask checkerpro. I think they will make what ever you need.

92 Topper

Thanks TexasGuy001,

Checkerpro does have a tonneau for me.
But when I gave Lori the interior dimensions 49 wide and 80 & 3/4 long she said that was a Ranger bed. Is it possible that this bed has been swithched ?
I bought it from a widow who has no info other than her husband bought it in 05 and put a 302 mustang engine and transmission in it.
This would explain my arguing with some reps about it not being 76 inches long.
This would open up more sources as that is a 92-96 ranger bed maybe...

It is not a Ranger bed. The box size is the size of a Ranger bed but your FlareSide bed is an F-150 box. The dimensions for a cover would fit that of a Ranger's, though.

At least I believe so. A Ranger box would not match the cab. Is there any way you can take a picture for us?
