Hey all im putting a 5 speed fm145 tranny under my 84 B2 off my parts 85 B2 anyhow pulled the tranny and noticed on the bellhousing there openings dumb question maybe but when i get into mud/water out fourwheeling wont my clutch and flywheel get all plugged up with crap could i even plug the bottom opening to keep most mud and water crap outta there or should i not be so worried ?? thanks

Dont quote me on it, but i think what you are talkin about is just the "clutch inspection hole" thingy, so i think it will be fine to block it, but maybe someone else will be 100% sure
There is supposed to be a rubber plug that fits that opening........search the J-yard.

My first tranny swap not to familuar so sorry for the poor info but there one opening toward the bottom and one toward the top seem to be vent hole there proubly 4'' long by 2'' wide agian migth not be a big deal just thought might save my clutch and flywheel some ?? thanks alot

i wonder the same thing sometimes, i mean they are angled to keep water out under normal conditions, but i dont know if they can be blocked off, or if they even need to be
Hole may also be for a external slave cylinder for a different application.

Water getting that high, the clutch may be the least of your worries. The hole is to vent heat from the clutch/flywheel area.

And I guess it is angled the opposite way to that would also make it harder to get in there Just thought i'd ask if anybody has had any proublems thanks alot old93junk
