I used this wire. Works great. Remove the cover under your steering column. To the right of the column you will see a brown 6 wire connector. The top center wire is light blue with a red stripe. I piggybacked to this wire. When you dim the dash lights, it will dim the gauge pod lights also. Others use this same wire, found behind the headlight switch.

I wired mine to the wire behind the head light switch but I find that the dash gauges dim down way more than the pillar gauges. They really don't bother me much anymore and rarely dim them. I did buy the separate dimmer which I may hook up someday

My Autometer gauges came with different color bulb covers. I installed the green ones over the bulbs to subdue the light somewhat. Now the light brightness seems more evenly matched to the dash.

I did the same thing. Seemed to help dim them down enough for me.

Well, aren't you two special

I may have to look into that. I did not get anything extra with mine. Mine are the green to match but are rally bright. I will need to tear into them and see what I can do

Summit Racing has the colored bulb covers for the autometer gauges. Colors red, blue and green for about $3.00 per gauge. The boost gauge was in my truck when I got it and did not have the bulb cover, When I installed the 3 gauge pod The boost gauge had a white light, easy fix.

Is there a way to get the dash guages as bright as my performax guages? It seems my guages are a tad brighter . Are the guages bulbs just brighter ?
