Oh yes, I know. I hang around there and a couple other sites for RV-related stuff. But for the chassis stuff I look here and another site dedicated to Econolines. I don't know if I should name it or not, but you guys probably know it already. They are into the older generations of E's though, 60'-70s models.

Still have no idea about trans code G. It will have to wait until morning to crawl underneath her her and look at the ID plate.

I believe that the 23 is a 3.55 non limited slip rear end.

Found this on a Bronco site: Trans code G is the C4 automatic.

What pattern do you have for the shifter?

P-R-N-OD-2-1? P-R-N-D-1-2?

Standard PRND21.. No OD

It's a C4. Has to be, right? Anyway, I know it doesn't have OD, and if it does, I've driven 20K miles this year with a burned up OD gear. I doubt the trans would have held up.

Like I said only code translation I could find for G is on a Bronco page, and I'm assuming that Ford codes are all the same, regardless of the vehicle model.

Is the C6 what they normally mated to the 351 Windsor? Transmissions are something I leave to the experts, so I wouldn't know the difference between a C4 and a C6 if it whacked me in the head.

C4 is light duty & C6 is heavy duty, class B would be to heavy for a C4 plus what you said

What about working on the aerodynamics, make it a wedge instead of a brick. tuck stuff up under so it don't cause at much drag. Not sure how just throwing an idea! Good luck!

Well that certainly makes sense. Now I wonder why the build code on my B pillar says G. Is it a typo or would Intervec (the RV Manufacturer) swap out trannies? Can't see Intervec doing that.

So trans code G, in an Econoline means C6, and in a Bronco it means C4? That doesn't make sense either.

Trans G= C6
Axle 23= 3.31 open

With 225/75 16 tires you are doing 2333 RPM @ 60 MPH.

But you probably have 16.5 wheels right?

Get this. Sometimes when I'm on the highway, a fly or something will actually get in the space above my hood, but under the overhead dormer. Even at highway speeds, the airflow in there is so dead, that damn fly will sit on my windshield and tag along for miles. I've seen this more than a few times. First couple of times I actually thought the fly was in the cab, but it wasn't. This thing has all the aerodynamics of a barn door.

I've wondered about what would happen if I put one of those hood wing things on her, if it would divert the air up over the top more efficiently. Kind of like the air dam you would wrap around under the front bumper, only right on her nose. I always figured they were a gimmick, but who knows? She tends to pitch and yaw in x-winds, so even if it would help curb that, it would be a bonus.
