3rd gear seems to have no power or acceleration.

Sometimes when I back out of my driveway I go in nutral which lands me shifting to 3rd - not D by mistake. When I hit the gas I automatically can tell I went to 3rd not D.

Why is the 3rd feel very underpower or odd?

Because when you're in 3rd, you do not start out in 1 or 2 and then shift to third.

"3" means 3rd gear.

Exactly. There is nothing wrong that is how 3rd is supposed to feel when accelerating from a stop.

actually you do start out in 1st if its on an automatic id you start out in third there will be no power just like if you put a manual in a high gear and try to take from a stop sign. there is no power.

2010 user's manual page 296 states
************
3 (Third)
Transmission operates in third gear only.

Used for improved traction on slippery roads. Selecting 3 (Third) provides engine braking.
