Empty Weight

Just curious if anyone knows the approximate empty weight of 2007 4x2 F350 diesel dually crew cab? I reviewed some of the spec sites and found weights listed but not sure which one applies to my truck. What is considered a "chassis cab" vehicle versus a "style side pickup, etc." vehicle? First was listed as weighing in the mid 6500 lb range and other was a little over 7000 lb range. thanks in advance, Roy

How precise you need to be? The only sure answer will be taking the truck to the scales.
Lot of businesses offers scales for free after rush hours. In my area we do have concrete recycling co, that will weight the vehicles for free and charge only for certificate. In other places the agriculture scales offer the same.

Your dually CC will be more than likely be at least 7500lbs. Diesels are heavy trucks combined with the crew cab and dual wheels.

Take it to a scale as Kajtek said to be sure.

A chassis cab is a truck built specifically with out a bed, with a stronger frame than a pickup. They are used for dump trucks, tow trucks, etc. weight of the truck you listed should right about 7500 or so.

I suggest going to a truck stop and see the cat scales. They can do each axle.
CAT Scale

$9 bucks the last time I did it.

Thanks all for replies. I was just looking for a close weight, not exact. In NC you have to buy a tag based on unloaded vehicle weight plus weight of what is being towed. This does not apply to RV's but it does to other trailers, etc. I pull a classic car on a trailer which does apply. Once the weather (snow) clears up I'll run by the recycle (trash) center and drop off trash. They weigh me as I go in and as I leave to determine how much trash I dropped off.

Thanks! I'm reading this to say your truck weighed 6220 lbs new out the dealership minus your weight. That is kinda in line with data I found in tech section. It's interesting the next weight was exactly 1000 lbs more. What was added if I may ask? Roy

And that is with a V10 SC, so you are looking at least 7500# empty.

Hey there chief (master I assume, E9?) My 2011 F250, 6.2, SRW, SC, weighed in at 7100 with me and a tank of gas. I got the 10,000 LB tags, but I wont be pulling anything greater than a trailer with a couple of motorcycles on it. Here in NC they include payload in your plate as well, not just your trailer. I was talking to a guy with the same truck you have and he pulls horses and he was weighted for 20,000 Lbs, and it cost over 300 a year.

Here in IL. we register for truck and truck load only. Trailer load is covered with the trailer plate. My 09 F550 Tow truck only has to be registered for the empty weight of the truck, since towed vehicles have their own plates. My GVW is 19,000#, it is registered for 16,000#. It weighs 13,660 empty.
