might buy it

Hey guys I saw this truck for sale on the internet 2006 Ford F-150 FX4 Lifted! Loaded! Leather! A MUST SEE - Winnipeg Cars For Sale - Kijiji Winnipeg Canada. it seems like it's in really good condition I took it for test drive it ran really well I didn’t see any problems. I got the VIN number from the owner checked it out was clean no accidents or major problems. The only thing that kinda bugs me it says in the ad that the timing belts have been done. I was just wondering is this normal for timing belts to be changed so soon the truck only has 84,500kms. I think something like timing belts would be changed when the truck has lot more miles on it like 200,000kms on it? Anyways I would like your opinions or thoughts on this is it good truck to buy or should I keep looking?
Thanks for the help

To change a timing belt at approximately 53,000 miles seems pre-mature, but maybe he is a maintenance nut and from the looks of the truck and it's condition in the pics it seems okay. Did the seller provide a reason for the change?? I have 73,000 plus miles on my 2006 and have not even considered a timing belt....so just ask him.

Yeah I guess should ask the seller why he changed them and you are right 53,000 miles does seem kinda early to be changing timing belts.

There are no timing belts on the 5.4 it has 2 timing chains they may have changed the cam phaser and chains due to ticking in motor.
I just had a chain tensinor go and had to change the chain and phaser at 160km
it should be ok looks good

I didn’t know the 5.4 had timing chains , I thought they had timing belts all this time I thought timing chains were a thing of the past.

Also, check out the trucks at CW Auto king. They deal mostly in fords, and are pretty knowlegdable.

You are right it is very nice truck, but unfortunately I don't have the space in my driveway to park it. I live in a newer developments here in the city small lots also small driveways too and we already have 3 vehicles no room for a fourth one yea that just sucks don't it. Oh well I guess you can't always get what you want right.
