Looking for some wore-out hubs...
Haha! Yeah, that's what I'm looking for! Anybody have their old hubs that they wore out? I and a machinist are working on machining out a set of hubs to accept a complete bearing and race... from what we can tell, it shouldn't be but a few-hundred bucks and then from here on out, it's serviceable and cheap to fix when it wears out. Beats a $500 set of new hubs that are junk or a $2000 Dynatrac kit! So yeah, if any of y'all have a set of old wore-out hubs that you'd wanna get rid of, let me know! I don't wanna take apart the hubs I've got now in case I can't get them back together again... plus, I really can't have my truck down. I'm thinking about going with the late-'99 hubs so I can swap it all over... I need new rotors and calipers anyways. So yeah, post up!

No word from Peter yet... I think he's still looking to see if his hubs are in Nick's garage (whoever Nick is...).
The machinist I'm talking to really needs to have some hubs taken apart and in his hands so he can figure out the extent of the job. I think it's doable and so does he. If this goes REALLY well, we might start up an FTE service (like Ed and Pete) and provide machined-out hubs so they'll accept complete, serviceable bearings and races (the old hubs would have to be sent in as cores). It would come in pieces to be assembled by the buyer so the liability doesn't fall on our shoulders if it falls apart. But for less than $500, $100-worth of bearings for repairs as well as the ability to repack the bearings sure beats $500 every time a hub fails or buying a $2000 Dynatrac kit when most of us won't ever have applications extreme enough to need that hefty of a hub.

Yup... there's a couple sizes so I'm not gonna buy one until I can get my hands on a hub because like I said, I'm not touching mine. They're going South, but they're all I got so I ain't taking them apart!
