injector pump, who should i buy it from?

well i've had my truck about 2 years and it is time to do the injector pump.(has trouble starting in the summer when its hot out after its been running) the local diesel shop wants $485 to rebuild my existing pump, so that is out seeing as there 2 companys on ebay "diesel care" and "Pensacola diesel" that both sell the pump for about $370 w/ free shipping and no core charge so i need an opinon as to who i should buy it from.

U-Haul is having a HUGE sale of all there older part's for their trucks. IP's are going cheap and are a good rebuilt one. Go to www.uhaultruckparts.com Then go to Ford trucks, then search then seach under the part number. Price is $220.75. Hell of a deal.

IP : part # UHR851.

U-Haul - As in the major self service moving company. As with many operations their size, they keep a large stock of parts onhand, and as fleet
vehicles become obsolete, they sell off unused spare parts, such as a nice
selection of IDI parts, including injection pumps and injectors. Their so
cheap because they're more interested in moving old product quickly, to
make room for new, than in making a large profit... Good deal for us!

You've never heard of U-Haul?

The pumps are re-manufacturer by Dieselogic.

7.3 L Ford Diesel Fuel Injectors Fuel Pumps Accessories

I've gotten my Injection pump and 8 brand new Injectors from them about 3 years ago. They have a shop one town over from me, fabulous! I've got a lot of abusive miles on them, bone stock without turning the fuel screw or anything.

Yes, but at that price, you can buy two uhaul pumps outright, without worrying about a core price, or return shipping on the cores. Just food for thought.

Very true! But I wasn't sure how long it will take before the FTE IDI forum members buy 'em all out! LOL

DO not buy from Diesel Care. THey are crappy pumps. The best bet is always to have it rebuilt by a reputable local diesel shop, but 485 is too much, the last few I've had were around $300.
