Hey, all. Need a little help with parking lights wire.
Hey guys and gals. On top of introducing myself, hello, I had a question about my 1996 EB bronco (It has a 351, bone stock). I had some problems with my parking, tail and instrument lights which I diagnosed down to the tan/white wire that goes to the headlight switch(thanks Franklin). Apparently this wire burnt out somewhere between the fuse box and the light switch. The easiest solution to this problem was taking a wire directly from the headlight switch back to the fuse box and splicing it back into the wire instead of pulling out the instrument cluster and trying to find where exactly the wire burnt. The only thing is that I've searched every wire coming out of the fuse box and NONE of them are tan and white. I was wondering if anyone knew any solution to getting a constant 12v back to my headlight switch because I can't drive at night right now. Is the tan/white wire a different color at the fuse box? Can I hook this wire directly to the fuse for my instrument lights?
Some other valuable information is that I have an aftermarket alarm on the truck (installed by previous owner). Apparently the siren for the alarm was powered by this wire as well because it does not chirp when I lock it or it is tripped but the red light indicating the status of the alarm still works (flashes constant for engaged, quickly if the truck was tampered with and off when disengaged) any help is appreciated.
Thank you in advance, Justin.

The main light switch in these trucks is known to overheat due to a loose condition between the harness connector and the switch itself. If you haven't pulled the switch itself out to be certain the problem is not right there at the harness connection, I would suggest doing that first. I don't have my diagrams in front of me at the moment (surfing FTE at work). However, the main power feed wire from the harness is unlikely to be TAN at all. Feed wiring is typically RED or RED with a COLOR TRACE. I will check as soon as I can get to my wiring information but someone with the same info may chime in before I can get back to you. Welcome to FTE and the Big BRonco Forum.
