just asking. i have no idea what the fuel sending unit looks like or how to repair it or for that matter, whats wrong with it.

Try replacing with a Junk yard sender first, that will give you the knowledge to tackle yours by first getting one in the J-yard.
Be warned, the gages go belly up as often as the sender units......another trip to the JY.
Bad connections can be the problem too, I have seen just about all the problems these trucks can throw at you, having owned one since 84.

With a junk yard gauge R&R......Sender units are no different, 4cyl or V6 .......Some one has been making you waste your time, pull one from a v6 model if possible.

ok, so i can use a gauge from any size engine from only an 83 ranger, right?? or are there any other options..years, etc.
