Not very popular here. A few people are running them but the failure rate is higher.

I think VR (Victor) has redesigned them and they're sold as Black Diamond now.

Why risk it - a few hundred savings?? Not worth it.

They've been called Black Diamond since their release a few years back.

I have not had any experience with them. but as said before why risk it. a couple of hundred bucks is not worth the time and effort in changing them. I have heard that they are supposed to of improve them but again thats all talk.

Had them in my truck, ran em for a hard 6 months tuned...no issues while I had them...I knew the guy who bought it from me...he had no issues with them...up until he pulled the motor they were fine.

Just my personal experience with them. But from what I know now, I would have gone OEM

my diesel mechanic is redoing (he said) about two engines a week
with failed VR/BO headgaskets.

and a number of folks here break out in a rash when the name
comes up.

my experience so far with rebuilding this engine is that NOTHING
is worth having to crack it open again.
