I is a good chance the your y-pipe is cracked.
Look at the fire wall and up behind the engine to see if you see any soot.
Please be more specific, what is the correct name on this tube you mentioned and where exactly is it located, do I look in the area of the wheel well or under the hood.

What year is your truck ?

If it is a 6.0 the y-pipe is the pipes that go from the exhaust manifolds up the back of the motor the the back of your turbo.
The pipe has bellows in it that are famous for cracking.
Just look at the firewall up behind the turbo and then from under the truck look up behind the motor against the firewall to see if you see any soot.

You might also want to check the exhaust manifold bolts them selves.
Mine were loose once and the made a whistling sound like a leak.

Hi all, I seem to be having the same issue on my '03 F250 6.0. I heard a hissing sound near the turbo and felt around the back and felt some air(exhaust) blowing out of the driverside pipe up from the exhaust manifold (Y-pipe?). There seems to be a large hole in that pipe at the expansion points(bellows?) My question is: Is the Y-pipe one big assembly that goes from both manifolds into the back of the turbo, or is it 2 pieces: drivers side to turbo and a passenger side one that connects to it?
Also is it bad to drive with such a large leak? VGT stays at 85 and BST is negetive some times!!

I've been reading a lot on this forum and really do appreciate the regular members and their patience!!

Thanks in advance

Here is the part# for the Y-pipe for your model year 3C3Z-6K854-DA

Found on this thread:

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post10294608

They do have the tendency to break there. where your hole is. Number one in this photo is pointing at the y pipe and is all one piece. Number 2 ( on the right top picture ) is pointing at a short up-pipe that connects to the EGR cooler and is a separate pipe. Might want to have a look see at it's expansion joint also.

Verify the part number using your vin# with the seller of the part.

You can also take a stick and tie a piece of string on it and stick it around the exhaust area joints. When the string blows, there is your leak.
