Im not used to working on these "newer" trucks. Im putting a remote starter in my dads 98 f150 and i need to take the big plastic piece off right below the steering wheel. Ive got all the screws out and the hood and brake lever out but it still doesnt feel that loose. Is there a trick to this? Thanks

 

The upside down U-SHAPED piece ABOVE the steering wheel snaps off, and reveals I think TWO more bolts that hold the piece below the column. Also, there is two bolts that hold a metal bracket on the bottom by the hood/brake handles, and that metal bracket has to come off with the plastic piece.
