I think they are the same for trucks as vans. Replacement new manifolds are available from vendors selling DORMAN parts, Advance Auto, Auto Anything, etc. The part numbers are: 674-283 & 674-285. They sell for around $70.00 ea.
No, I think the driver's side manifold is different.
Well, I know for a fact they are different on the 7.3 idi, as I swapped my f350 motor for an e350 one and had to change it. I would assume it's the same way on the 6.9.
Just fyi: I had to also switch out the oil cooler, engine mounts, driver's side manifold, the bottom radiator hose, and the dipstick on mine. So you might want to check those out too.
Google "dorman 674-285. Click on the first site under "Shopping results dorman". When you open that site (it's an Amazon site) there will be a icon that you can select titled "SEE all vehicles this product fits". In that list it shows both F-series and E-series.
I've been told before that the oil coolers are different (I think Dave S. has posted to the same effect) so I really can't see how the manifolds could be the same.
The dipsticks I'm sure would be different, and I suspect that the cross members are different in a van versus truck, so the mounts being different doesn't surprise me either.
Yeah, I've just been through this like a month ago. Everything I listed on my post had to be switched on the engines. I don't care what some online merchant says, they are different. I just wasted like 150 bucks on a core support that they "said" would fit my truck...
Wow, does that engine cover have a lot of insulation? Half of the engine is in the cab area, sure would be loud if ya had an exhaust leak!
That go pedal looks close to the cover, can ya lean our knee against it on the long drives?
I had a dodge van at one point and the thing to worry about was heat more than noise, the floor got pretty warm... When I pulled the engine, the easiest route was to drop the transmission, remove the passenger door and seat and take it out the passenger door, but I think the doghouse was larger which allowed for easier removal that way. vans are fun... lol
If anyone has a drivers side manifold from a van laying around I wouldn't mind seeing about fitting it on a pickup. To me it looks like it was built that way to avoid the doghouse.
