I've never seen a tool box on the drivers side like the blue bed in the pictures above. Maybe it's for outside the States. I would love to have boxes on both sides of my truck. My 79 F150 has a tool box on the passenger side. It has to be a long bed to have one.

It was done in the states by someone here on FTE, there is a thread and everything. I am thinking the same thing (I want one on each side).

The inner plastic tub box is no problem, its the outer bed skin and latch. I can try and get some measurements from the JY for you?

It was done in the states ..by me in NJ..the only drawback is going to be the race track trim for the d/s...not produced by anyone and the box has to be notched for clearance of the d/s front spring hangar, had this done when I added the front dual tank option

Thanks for clearing that up, I dig your idea kinda like the new Dodge top side bed boxes, but way cooler on and old Ford, IMO.

Toolbox parts

1975 Camper Special factory toolbox parts and trim:
Thanks for the lead, I called Doug at Carpenters chasing down replacement trim for my box and he passed on the number to John Scowlish ( not sure I spelled that right). His number is (216-396-4365). He can both refurbish and replace trim, locks, etc. Yay!

Does anyone know the part number for the locking mechanism for the bedside storage tool box or where I can find one? Mine is completely rusted out and would like to replace it. I looked on DC and couldn’t find it there.
