Keypad use sounds panic alarm
I have searched forums before posting my issue (trying not to duplicate). I have found similar complaint/experiences, but no solution. Hoping to find help.
I recently purchased 2004 F150 Lariat, 137K miles, great shape. Everything on the truck looks and works perfectly, except... If I use the remote to unlock the doors, everything works as it should, no alarm.
If I attempt to unlock the doors using the keypad, the alarm sounds as soon as I touch the keypad.
I replaced one of the keyfobs a couple weeks ago, and both the new one, and the remaining original continue to work fine. I've checked under the dash, and there appears to be a KARR 4040a alarm installed. No documentation on the KARR, but online search indicates this was probably sold/installed at the dealer upon initial purchase.
I just want to be able to use the keypad for entry. Any solutions?? Thanks.

Most likely, the alarm is not programmed to or is incapable of recognizing an unlock command via the keypad or the door's key-lock as an authorized activity.
If you MUST use the keypad, follow the Karr's instructions for the emergency override to shut the alarm off.
You're likely better off simply eliminating the Karr.

Thanks projectSHO89, but the keypad worked the first couple weeks I had the truck without issue. It was only after I replaced and programmed a broken keyfob, that I experienced the panic alarm as soon as I begin to enter a code on the keypad.
I feel there is something simple that I'm missing. Probably so obvious that it is blinding me!
The keyfobs seem to work as they should. The KARR manual (attached) doesn't seem to be any help.

If anyone finds a solution to this issue, I would like to know what it is. After replacing a battery in my primary fob (and it not helping), I switched to the other fob. After about three weeks, my truck alarms when I touch the key pad about one out of six times and begins to alarm randomly. Most recently, at 330 this morning.
