Heat Trouble in 98 Expedition

Heat Trouble in 98 Expedition
OK, I have posted in other threads about this heat situation and I am now confused on what to look at or even fix next. I once had the problem with poor heat and it was fixed by unhooking the heater core lines and blowing water through them to get the clog out. the heat worked great for awhile and now I have almost no heat. This vehicle has two blend doors (am I right about this), but why am I having a heat problem in both front and rear. My wife has nueropathy and the cold gets to her badly from having this. I also doubt its a blend door problem for one, the A/C works like a champ and if the blend door was broken or whatever, the A/C too would have an affect on not being as cold ( am I right about this), and what is the chance on having both doors messed up to not get proper heat through outt he truck, thanks for any advice.

There are 2 blend doors in the system. One is to blend the selected temp of the air and the other is to select the outlets that you want heat or cool to go to. I think you may have a problem with the door that blends the air to the temp selected. In feront of the console near the floor is the door adjusting module that connects directly to the shaft that operates the door and they often break just above the module. The door and module requires a lot of work to replace up to and at times including the removal of the dash board and console.

I'd agree with that, the reason your inlet and outlet hoses are hot is becuase you are passing enough hot water to keep them that way, but once you turn the blower on the slow moving fluid doesn't have enough heat to give up for the fan to deliver to the cabin, i.e. it cools down right away and isn't replenishing fast enough. If you were to start the truck, let it warm up, and then switch on the heat will you get a warm puff that slowly turns to cold air?

'99 Expedition Heater (F&R) issues
Could you tell me why I have no heat to either the front or the rear (one went, then the other more recently) and the top heater hose is hot and the bottom cool?
I see many posts on this and a lot of suggestions. I think people must get too excited when they find the solution and never post back what it is. I promise, once I get my hands clean from the successful repair, I'll post a reply with what it was to this issue!
Thanks!

Two doors. One is a "blend" door (blends hot and cool air to get the temp you want) and the other is a "mode" door (determines what mode you are operating in, i.e, defrost mode, panel mode, vent mode, etc.)
Does your XLT/Bauer have manual climate control or EATC? Rear heater or only rear heat outlets?

I had nearly the same problem in my 99 xlt. I removed and replaced the rear heater core at the same time i changed the thermostat and flushed the entire system while I had the rear core out. Then I refilled the system with fresh coolant and water. It worked like a champ from then on. Be Sure to remove the upper and lower radiator hose flush the engine block and the radiator flush the lines going back to the rear heater core
