Ok, I have replaced the bad sensor (I hope). Now I need to clear to trouble codes, how do I do this?? Do I just disconnect the battery and wait a little bit?? Or do I have to do something else? Thanks
Normally, you should pull the jumper when you're finished pulling codes, but after you've replaced a part, it's often good to clear the computer's memory by unhooking the battery. It causes the engine to run rough while the computer relearns its adaptive strategy, but that's the whole point. It has adapted to a bad sensor, so forcing it to re-adapt will make it run better sooner.
