Towed my quads to the dunes this week
We took our 2010 f150 FX4 SCREW towing a 20 foot dual axle flatbed loaded with our 3 quads (ATV's) and all our gear from WA to the Oregon dunes, about 750 miles round trip. I have no idea what the actual weight was, but the rear springs were squatting a bit with a fairly evenly distributed load on the trailer. We averaged about 65-70 MPH on freeway and highways and ended up getting about 15.4 MPG and we had it in tow/haul the entire time. I was very happy with the way the truck performed, especially pulling up steep grades. There were a few times I had to punch it a bit and RPMs got up to around 3,000- not bad. Love the low end of the 5.4.
We had a great trip even though it was cold and wet. The only problem we had was about 90 miles from home a trailer tire decided to separate and we had to find a replacement because we left the spare at home.

So, who gets the call when one of them has a flat? Good to hear as we might be trailering the HD to Western PA this spring to meet and ride with some friends.

That is awesome to hear glad you guys had a good time as well.
Over the summer I had my 09 loaded with one Dirtbike in the back and a single axle trailer also hooked up with three dirtbikes on it. Four adult males in the cab with all our gear backed around the bike in the bed. I was pulling it up Berthoud pass in Colorado. A buddy of mine had his 08 Dodge 1500 Hemi with a single axle trailer and two bikes on it. When we are empty he smokes me all the time but I worked him going up that pass. I actually had to pull over and let him catch up just so he could follow me to the staging area.
