Love the silver. Always been a fan of it. Planning on getting that color for my next truck. What do you think about the new center console? I see they added a head rest and changed up the cupholder area. Did they make the storage compartment bigger too?

I think the top storage compartment is actually smaller because the seatbelt is a full 3 point so it's integrated into the lid.

Funny you mentioned that i did not think there would be any cup holders in center console and storage is smaller than what i am used to in a Ford truck.

Congrats. What options did you get and what rear end? I bet that thing is slow isnt it? Please report back with your impressions, gas mileage and anything you can think of. These darn trucks have gotten so expensive I have been thinking of a Xl with the 5 liter just like yours.

Not too many options just what i consider basics cruise control , power window / door locks, cloth seats and carpet. Its quicker than the 4.6L F150 we had . The electric steering is different at slow speeds very easy to steer but once at say 55 mph.. steering is very tight. I am not used to that just yet.. I honestly like easy steering at any speed.

How much more would an XLT have been? Only reason I ask is because I would prefer the XLT wheels, chrome grille, and Sync, but if it's a huge price difference I could see getting the XL.

I do know that this year, if cloth is specified in an XL, you get the same fabric as the XLT. That said, I'd bet that anyone spec'ing the cloth seat gets the whole XLT seat, cupholders, storage, and all. It keeps seat inventory less complex, and I doubt the cost difference between having/not having cupholders, etc. is worth much concern, at least to Ford. You've spec'ed that XL into one very nice truck, at least in the interior.

I would have to assume a reg cab short bed with the 5.0 would be one very very fast truck . Its got similar power to the lightning doesnt it.

I agree. I think it makes more sense for Ford to only have one type of cloth seat.
