Another fun time for all. 3/4" of solid ice. Thankfully older offspring decided he would scrape it up in exchange for some gas and cigs. It was worth it! Not to mention NO power for hours at a time.

Tom, I'm here in Carteret ;-)) We actually made the lead story at the 5/5:30 o'clock "Eyewitness News" for our PSEG substation being wiped out by ice and all the electricity along with it. Thank heavens for batteries and acoustic guitars.....

I only got 1/2" of ice, but it was as solid as can be. I let the car run for a while to warm up the windows, then went back outside and pushed the ice off the windshield in one shot!

For the side windows, I got inside and opened them, then pushed the ice that remained in place, out, and it broke off.

Of course while I was doing this to take my son to school, I didn't notice the large branch (30' long or thereabouts) blocking my driveway.

All the more reason to make and drink coffee BEFORE rushing out the door.

No Cliff, we're done.... Ready for fishing poles and other "close to free" activities as I'm figuring how to pay the accountant to get my tax returns out, lol. Nothing like NJ
