On the first start-up of the day the truck smokes white until the oil temp hits about 75 degrees or so. It doesn't smell like anything other then regular diesel exhaust. It doesn't have any other symtoms runs good starts fast with no issues. It doesn't lose any coolant or oil. It never smokes any other time ever only regular black smoke. The only other thing I can say is right as I start it. It has a harse idle for maybe 5-10 seconds. I expect that really since the oil is cold. Should I worry or is this normal? this is my first winter with the truck. We have about 6 other 6.0's in our work fleet and they do this too and always have.

 

If it doesn;t smell like coolant, you are good.

Use cetane boost, antigel.
