Ed, since nobody has replied yet, I'll jump in. Depends on the trans that's on there, the 3 speed would have a little more value than the truck 4 speed. I would say if the engine and trans are in good rebuildable shape (no cracks in block) you might be looking at somewhere around the $400 mark. This will vary on things such as how complete the engine is, etc.

Thanks Gary, The one I had come across was apx. 2-300.00 and was said to have the dizzy in front? but also said it was "stuck"? didnt know if the meant the dizzy or the engine block. I dont thing it ref. what type of trans...just that it was included. Just thinking ahead to maybe rebuild one for selling or useing later on.

Dizzy mounted at the front of the engine 1932/48, it can be a real bear changing the points...and the plug wires, as they route thru metal tubes.
1949/53's use a conventional dizzy, mounts to the passenger side of the engine.
Many flathead engines for sale in today's world are stuck and/or have cracked blocks...inspect first before buying one.
Careful: Besides the 'usual' Ford/Merc flatties, there's another (337 cid) used in 1948/51 F7 and larger trucks and 1949/51 Lincoln's.

i am not sure what the early flat heads are worth..but i sold my running 8ba with a 3speed for 750.00 the guy seemed happy with the price, he was putting it into a t-bucket project..but a stuck one would depend on actual condition..they are hard to check still assembled..need to pull the heads and look for cracked valve seat area and how much rust in the bores
